Seth Akira Feldman is a Toronto singer-songwriter who performs under the name, To the Fields. A self-taught multi-instrumentalist and producer, Seth is constantly trying to improve his understanding of music and create engaging, honest songs.
He has been influenced by a number of musicians including Pink Floyd, Neil Young, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, and Jeff Buckley. His voice is most often compared to Buckley’s. If there is any resemblance there, it is due to the many hours spent trying to learn to sing by doing it along with Jeff and others.
Seth has just released his first full length record, Distance, under the name, To the Fields. The album was produced by Seth at home, and features songs written over a number of years. All instruments, vocals, mixing and mastering were performed by him.
The tracklist covers a variety of topics, from the opening ballad, 6,000 Miles – a meditation on inescapable limerence – to We’ve Come From You, a tribute to his paternal grandparents first written in celebration of one of their 70+ wedding anniversaries.
